R.I.P. GPS is a service for preventing your car of connecting to the manufacturer's servers, to stop them from collecting data and helping to restore your privacy

 Your car will no longer be sending out any of the following:

 

• Your location and places you were parked
• Driver behavior (How you were driving)
• Text messages you sent and received
• Phone numbers you dialed or received calls from
• Your private conversations
• Video stream or recording from any of the cameras in the car

 

 

Don't worry,

 

• It's completely safe for the car
• No warning lights or fault codes
• No dealer or a mechanic can figure out why it doesn't connect  
• Changes are undetectable
• Changes will not be reversed with any software update
• It's reversable

 

 

Downsides:

 

• No Internet connection for your car multimedia
• No software updates
• No Internet radio

All downsides can be temporarily avoided by connecting your 

car to a hotspot, e.g. your phone
